• The closest suburbs to our Melbourne Burwood Campus are Burwood East, Box Hill South, Camberwell and Ashburton.
• If you don’t mind living a bit further away, the beach-side suburb of St Kilda is popular with students and backpackers (and it's just a short tram ride away from the CBD).
• Melbourne has the largest public tram network outside of Europe – so getting around is easy.
• There are more cafes and restaurants per person in Melbourne than any other city in the world.

lorem is the second largest city in Victoria, with a population of nearly 185,000. Once an industrial town, it's continuing to emerge as an exciting cultural centre and tourist destination. Located on a peninsula, Geelong's surrounding beaches are very popular with surfers. World-class surfing competitions are held just 15 minutes from both Geelong campuses.

Our Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus is a 20-minute drive from the city centre, so if you choose to live centrally you won't be far from your classes. Suburbs closer to campus include Grovedale, Wandana Heights and Highton. You can access the Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus by car, train, or the free shuttle bus that runs between our two Geelong campuses – and Melbourne is just an hour away.

Our Geelong Waterfront Campus is right in the centre of town. If you choose to live centrally you'll be living within walking distance to your classes. If you live further from the city centre, getting to campus by car, cycle or public transport is easy too.

lorem is a coastal town of nearly 30,000 people. It's an increasingly popular tourist destination, with historic buildings, beautiful waterways and surf beaches, and a whale-watching centre.

There are plenty of affordable rental options near our Warrnambool Campus. Located along the Great Ocean Road – one of the world's most scenic coastal drives – you can get to Warrnambool by car, bus or train.

The word Warrnambool originates from the local Indigenous name for a nearby mountain. Summers here are slightly cooler than in Melbourne, while winters are slightly warmer.

Transferring or wiring money is the same as sending cash: once you send it, you're unable to get it back.

Scammers will sometimes ask you to transfer or wire them money to secure the rental. SREC recommends you do not transfer or wire money for a rental property you haven't personally inspected.

It's not a good idea to send money to someone you've never met in person, or for a property you haven’t seen.

If you can’t visit a property yourself, see if you can arrange someone you trust to go and confirm that the property's a genuine rental and matches the advertisement.

If you pay money in advance without personally inspecting the property and it turns out to not exist, or not be what was advertised, it's very difficult to get your money back.

But they have a plan to get the keys into your hands.

It might involve a lawyer or an 'agent' working on their behalf. Some scammers even create fake keys, or require you send more money before they release the keys to you.

Don’t send money to them overseas. If you can’t meet in person, see the apartment or sign a lease before you pay, and keep looking for other accommodation options.
