Electrical machines lab comprises of DC rectifier, DC machines such as Shunt generator, series generator, compound generator and AC machines like transformers, alternators, synchronous motors, and induction motors. This lab enables the students to conduct no-load, load tests on DC machines to draw various characteristics and calculate the efficiency. This lab also permits students to perform tests on AC machines to evaluate the performance of each machine. They also learn to draw the equivalent circuit from the test results.

In Power Electronics and Simulation Laboratory, students can study the detailed characteristics of various power semiconductor devices like MOSFET, IGBT, SCR, etc. Students can perform experiments on various converters like AC-DC rectifiers, DC-DC converters, DC-AC inverters, and AC-AC converters. Students first simulate the above-mentioned converters using MATLAB / Simulink and verify the results using custom made equipment.
Besides, students will have hardware exposure, where they design and develop various converters, their driver circuits using PCBs; program the controllers to operate the converters as a part of Open-Ended Experiment.
This laboratory trains the students not only in developing the prototype but also build them to the product level.

In a real-time network, the engineer must be able to apply the most simplified and efficient possible method to determine the voltages and currents at various stages of the network. To analyze and design any electrical equipment practically, one needs to develop its equivalent model mathematically. Thus for an engineering student, who is anticipating to work in the core domain of both electrical engineering and electronic engineering, Electrical circuit/Network analysis course is the fundamental key to understand, analyze and excel in their core areas. In addition, circuit/network concepts are also the fundamental keys to understand most of the Electrical and Electronic subjects.
Further, to gain expertise in the classroom learned theoretical concepts, practical sessions are significant. This course intends to develop problem-solving skills and understanding of circuit theory through the application of techniques and principles of electrical circuit analysis to common circuit problems. This laboratory practice helps students to gather hands-on experience in circuit design and development on breadboard and determination of output (V, I and power response), and validate the theoretical concepts.

Electrical simulation laboratory is one of the vital and important subjects in the field of electrical engineering. In power system simulation laboratory, students are particularly directed towards the analysis of power system behavior for secure and reliable operation. Amid various analytical studies of power systems, transient stability, fault analysis, short circuit analysis, and harmonic analysis are the most important focus. Further, in this laboratory, students get concrete concepts about power system planning and operation with application of state-of-the-art commercial and open source analytical software tools such as, MATLAB, Mi-POWER, PSCAD, MATPOWER, PSAT, etc.

Control system is required to process various control variables in an industry or a plant. In a power plant, it is necessary to control temperature inside the boiler, pressure of the steam, field excitation to get desired output voltage and power. In general control systems are used in applications like traffic control, washing machines, water heaters, cement industry, chemical industry etc.
The main objectives of Control Systems laboratory is to determination of error of three phase systems, analysis of time response second order system, determination of transfer function , stability, observability and controllability analysis.
In Control System laboratory, students will able to obtain the error of a giver three phase system by conducting experiment on synchro pair. They will observe the time response of second order system and the response will be analysed by controllers (proportional, differential and integral controllers). By conducting the various tests, they will attain the transfer function of DC motor, DC generator, AC servo motor and DC servo motors. Then the students will analyse the stability, observability and controllability of the transfer function.
